How to kill Salmon

One hit is enough - it only has 3 health. If you kill it while it is on fire it drops cooked salmon instead; in Java an Impaling trident deals extra damage to aquatic mobs.

Behavior

Swims upstream like a real salmon: it can jump up waterfalls 4-5 blocks high. Collect it with a water bucket for aquariums - bucketed salmon never despawn. Wild salmon come in three sizes: 31.6% small, 52.6% normal and 15.8% large.

Taming and breeding

Cannot be tamed or bred - salmon only appear through natural spawning. Size is cosmetic in Java, but in Bedrock large salmon drop more bones.
