How to get Bring Home the Beacon

Defeat the wither to get a nether star (see the Withering Heights guide for the fight).
Craft the beacon: 5 glass, 3 obsidian and 1 nether star.
Build a pyramid of mineral blocks: iron, gold, diamond, emerald or netherite blocks, in any mix. A single 3x3 layer (9 blocks) powers a level-1 beacon; four full layers (164 blocks) unlock every effect.
Place the beacon on top, centered, with a clear view of the sky. When it powers on, stand within about 20 blocks of it (a 20x20x14 box) and the advancement triggers.

Tips

Iron is the cheapest pyramid material by far, so mine or build an iron farm before committing diamond blocks. The beacon needs open sky above it: bedrock and most transparent blocks are fine, but solid blocks switch it off.
