How to get Good as New

Equip wolf armor on a tamed wolf (see Shear Brilliance for crafting it).
Let the armor take damage: wolf armor absorbs most damage the wolf would take, so a few fights or a short fall will wear it down.
Hold an armadillo scute and right-click the armored wolf.
Repair it all the way back to full durability; the advancement unlocks when the armor is fully repaired.

Tips

You can see the armor wear down as visible cracks on the wolf. One scute repairs a good chunk of durability, so keep a stack on long expeditions instead of crafting spare armor.
