How to get Wax Off

Wax a copper block first (see Wax On): right-click any copper block, stair or slab with a honeycomb.
Craft any axe; a stone axe works.
Right-click the waxed copper block with the axe to scrape the wax off.
The advancement unlocks on the scrape. Any of the 15 waxed copper variants counts.

Tips

Waxing stops copper from oxidizing forever, which is how builders keep a fresh orange copper roof. Scraping wax also works on waxed signs in Bedrock, but for the advancement stick to copper blocks.
