How to Make Cracked Stone Bricks in Minecraft

Guide Java Bedrock

Quick answer: Smelt an ordinary stone bricks block in a furnace with fuel to make one cracked stone bricks block. A stonecutter does not make this variant. If starting with cobblestone, smelt it into stone, craft stone bricks, then smelt the bricks.

What you need

Step by step

  1. Gather ordinary stone bricks. Do not use cobblestone, plain stone or stone brick slabs for the cracking step.
  2. If you need to craft bricks first, smelt cobblestone into stone and arrange four stone in a 2x2 square for four stone bricks.
  3. Put the stone bricks in the top input slot of a furnace.
  4. Add fuel to the lower slot and wait for the output. Each stone bricks block gives one cracked stone bricks block.
  5. Take the cracked blocks and use them for an aged stone-brick texture.
  6. Collect placed cracked stone bricks with any pickaxe. No Silk Touch is required.

Java vs Bedrock

The furnace recipe works in Java and Bedrock. Cracked stone bricks are a separate block from ordinary, mossy and chiseled stone bricks. Crafting two slabs makes the chiseled variant, not the cracked one.
