How to get A Seedy Place

Get seeds: break tall grass for wheat seeds, or find beetroot, melon, pumpkin, torchflower or pitcher seeds, or nether wart.
Use a hoe on a dirt block to make farmland (nether wart goes on soul sand instead).
Right-click the farmland with the seeds to plant them.
The advancement unlocks the moment one of the 7 valid crops goes into the ground.

Tips

Only beetroot, melon, nether wart, pumpkin, wheat, torchflower and pitcher count. Carrots and potatoes are fine food but do not trigger it. Wheat from tall grass next to spawn is the fastest route.
