How to get Acquire Hardware

Mine iron ore with a stone pickaxe or better: look for it in mountains around Y=232 or deep underground around Y=16.
Smelt the raw iron in a furnace or blast furnace: 1 raw iron plus fuel gives 1 iron ingot.
Pick the ingot up. Having one in your inventory completes the advancement.

Tips

A blast furnace smelts twice as fast, and a Fortune pickaxe increases the raw iron each ore drops. Iron ingots also come from village and shipwreck chests, and iron golems drop 3-5 when killed.
