How to get Hot Stuff

  1. Craft a bucket from 3 iron ingots in a V shape.
  2. Find lava: surface lava pools, lava aquifers in deep caves, or anywhere in the Nether.
  3. Use the bucket on a lava SOURCE block: the still blocks, not the flowing ones. Flowing lava can't be collected.
  4. The lava bucket in your inventory completes the advancement.

Tips

A lava bucket smelts 100 items, the best furnace fuel in the game. Lava is even renewable: a cauldron under pointed dripstone with lava above it slowly fills with fresh lava.
