How to get Getting an Upgrade

  1. Mine cobblestone with your wooden pickaxe (see the Stone Age guide).
  2. Craft a stone pickaxe at the crafting table: 3 cobblestone across the top, 2 sticks down the middle.
  3. Have the stone pickaxe in your inventory. That's the whole advancement.

Tips

Blackstone and cobbled deepslate work in the recipe too, not just cobblestone. Stone tools are the gateway to iron: you need this pickaxe to mine the ore for Acquire Hardware.
