How to get Crafting a New Look

  1. Find a smithing template with an armor trim: every structure hides its own style, like dune in desert temples or tide in ocean monuments.
  2. Craft a smithing table: 2 iron ingots over 4 planks.
  3. Combine in the table: the template, any armor piece, and a material like iron, gold, emerald, diamond, redstone, lapis, amethyst, quartz, copper or netherite.
  4. Take the trimmed armor out. Crafting it completes the advancement.

Tips

Duplicate templates before spending them: 7 diamonds + the template + its matching block in a crafting table gives you two. Trims are purely cosmetic, so pick the combo that looks best, not the rarest material.
