How to get Isn't It Scute?

  1. Find an armadillo: they spawn in savannas and badlands.
  2. Craft a brush: a feather, a copper ingot and a stick in a vertical line.
  3. Approach calmly: armadillos roll into a ball if you sprint, and you can't brush a rolled-up armadillo.
  4. Use the brush on the armadillo and it drops an armadillo scute.
  5. The scute in your hand completes the advancement.

Tips

Six scutes craft wolf armor, the only armor your dog can wear. Armadillos also shed scutes on their own every few minutes, so a pen of them is a slow but free farm.
