How to get It Spreads

  1. Find a sculk catalyst in a deep dark biome or ancient city.
  2. Lure any mob that drops experience within about 8 blocks of the catalyst.
  3. Kill it there: zombies, skeletons and animals all work. Only the ender dragon and mobs with no XP drops are excluded.
  4. The catalyst consumes the XP and spreads sculk. That conversion completes the advancement.

Tips

Every kill near a catalyst grows the sculk patch, spawning more sensors and shriekers, so clear what you summon. An easy setup: drag a zombie from a spawner to the city edge and finish it by the catalyst.
