How to get Star Trader

  1. Find or build a spot at the very top of the world: you must stand on a block above y=318.
  2. Get a villager up there. A minecart on rails, a boat lifted with a bubble column or a simple dirt tower with rails all work. A wandering trader that spawns near you up there also counts.
  3. Open the trading interface with the villager or wandering trader while you stand above y=318.
  4. The advancement unlocks as soon as the trade menu opens at that height.

Tips

Scaffolding is the fastest way up: a straight scaffolding tower to y=319 costs under 70 scaffolding. Start on a tall mountain (jagged peaks often reach y=250 or higher) to shorten the climb.
