How to get The Power of Books

  1. Craft a chiseled bookshelf: 6 wooden planks filling the top and bottom rows and 3 wooden slabs across the middle row.
  2. Place the chiseled bookshelf and put at least one book in it (regular, enchanted and written books all work).
  3. Craft a comparator with 3 redstone torches, 1 nether quartz and 3 stone.
  4. Place the comparator so its back runs into the chiseled bookshelf. The advancement unlocks as soon as the comparator reads the shelf.

Tips

Each of the 6 slots outputs a different signal strength (1 to 6), based on the last slot used. That makes chiseled bookshelves a classic secret-door lock: only pulling the right book opens it.
