Respecting the Remnants

Advancements are exclusive to Java Edition. The Bedrock Edition equivalent is achievements, which have different objectives.

How to get Respecting the Remnants

1. Craft a brush: a feather, a copper ingot and a stick.
2. Find suspicious sand or suspicious gravel: desert temples, desert wells, warm and cold ocean ruins, and trail ruins all hide it.
3. Hold use with the brush on the suspicious block until the item inside pops out.
4. Get any pottery sherd into your inventory. Brushing and having the sherd can happen separately, so looting one from a friend counts.

Tips

Suspicious blocks break instantly if touched by a tool or falling, so clear the area and brush carefully. Every sherd pattern comes from a specific structure, so collect them all for decorated pots (see Careful Restoration).
