How to Make Chiseled Sandstone in Minecraft

What you need

• 2 regular sandstone slabs per chiseled sandstone
• Or 1 regular sandstone block with a stonecutter
• Crafting table if making slabs from blocks
• Pickaxe to recover placed blocks

Step by step

1. Get regular sandstone slabs. Put three regular sandstone blocks in a horizontal row on a crafting table to make six slabs.
2. Place one sandstone slab directly above another in your inventory crafting grid or on a crafting table.
3. Take one chiseled sandstone block. Use regular sandstone slabs, not smooth sandstone or cut sandstone slabs.
4. For a direct route, put one regular sandstone block in a stonecutter and select chiseled sandstone. This gives one block without making slabs first.
5. Use its creeper-face pattern for desert walls, borders or decorative details. No furnace is needed.
6. Collect placed chiseled sandstone with any pickaxe. If you break it by hand, it drops nothing.
